Catalina Labs

Creating a New Brand

Overview
Catalina Labs, an Internet of Things (IoT) company poised to humanize the way people communicate with technology, hired SocioFabrica to create a versatile brand that would do two things: establish them as a leader in their space, and appeal to consumers, enterprise clients and investors.
Strategy
Branding efforts started by analyzing the visual identities of competitors and other IoT companies.

During the process, Catalina Labs’ founder made one thing clear: he wanted a brand that was uniquely inviting, approachable and spoke to the company’s purpose – customer satisfaction.

Solution
We created a visual identity and logo with the company name nestled in an open bracket to symbolize the new chapter in technology interactions that Catalina Labs offers. The logo was paired with a web of intertwined lines which visualized how interconnected between people are with their devices. From there, we explored color, type, and value propositions, producing visual designs for the website, business cards and swag.
Results
The new brand positioned Catalina Labs for impressive growth.
Immediately after the new branding was live, the company was invited to international forums like the AVAYA Engage Conference to promote their products and partnered with global ISP Neustar.

Catalina Labs was acquired by Asurion in 2018.
