Gaby’s Gourmandise

Branding to launch a new food venture

Overview
When SF-based French Chef Jean-Gabriel (Gaby) Ferrandon decided to expand his culinary ventures from teaching and catering to a food-service business selling cured meats and baked goods, he turned to SocioFabrica to develop his brand.
Strategy
The core of his business pays tribute to ancient French recipes while remixing them with contemporary San Francisco food culture. Gaby’s products range from salami and pâtés to stuffed brioche and fruit tarts, making it important for us to create a brand identity that could be encapsulated on a label and stand out in the crowded food space.
Solution
Inspired by hand-painted French signs, we drew custom lettering for Gaby’s business name. We referenced the traditional brioche braid and created a modern pattern as a way to intertwine ancient French and modern San Francisco culinary strands. In a foodscape packed with warm colors, the purple and gold not only stand out but feel contemporary and elegant.
Results
Since launch, Gaby’s Gourmandise has been gobbled up by San Francisco Bay Area foodies. We’re excited to continue to support their growth and have helped develop their packaging, signs, and social media presence.
Words From Our Client
“SocioFabrica did a fantastic job. Thank you for helping me build an identity that truly represents my company.”
