Integrating Tealeaf into IBM’s CXA

Overview
Overstat, a web analytics company, was acquired by Tealeaf, a customer behavior company. During the acquisition, they leveraged our branding and User Experience (UX) expertise to integrate their analytics overlay into Tealeaf’s solution. During the two year engagment, Tealeaf was acquired by IBM and we assisted with its integration into the IBM Customer Experience Analytics (CXA) platform.
Strategy
We started by evaluating Tealeaf’s existing UX, performing usability tests to identify top goals and challenges, mapping the customer journey and defining the user types.

With these insights, we recommended how and where Overstat’s key features should be integrated.

Redesigned the interface to improve usability: conducted multiple group white-boarding sessions to improve most important features
Developed low-fidelity wireframes as means to evolve conversations with developers and stakeholders
Developed higher-fidelity wireframes and began to match the interface with Tealeaf’s brand colors
Solution
In close collaboration with Tealeaf and Overstat, we conducted multiple white-boarding sessions with stakeholders to iterate on the most important features and develop low-fidelity wireframes.

We redesigned the User Interface (UI) so it would fit seamlessly into Tealeaf’s existing design language and brand colors. We also created a style guide to standardize and scale the UI’s implementation.

Results
The improved UX elevated Tealeaf’s reputation as a top customer behavior analysis solution, leading to their acquisition by IBM.

During the acquisition, IBM worked with SocioFabrica to rebrand and integrate Tealeaf’s UI into their Customer Experience Solution.
